I have tried to tell myself that I don’t have a stash. I even convinced myself, at least for a while. I mean, most of this yarn started out as an intended project. And then? Then I stored the yarn in one of three four drawers, so I never thought it was so much as to be called stash.
And then I decided to clean out my drawers and to organize my yarn. I took everything out of the three four drawers, and finally admitted to myself: I have stash.
Internet, meet my stash:
But wait! There’s more:
This is actually my Bucket o’ Babette. Back in the heady days of September, 2008, I started on – and promptly ignored – my Babette.
Which brings me to my one and only New Year’s Resolution: USE UP SOME OF MY STASH. High priorities include: Make some progress on that Babette, use up my cotton yarn on wash cloths and market bags, and make felted placemats out of the pink/purple variegated yarn.
Internet, I’ll keep you posted.

Hello!
My name is Elisabeth, and I am an infertility / repeated pregnancy loss “veteran”. You can read a little bit about me and my experiences in my (not very updated) blog: drhousewife.blogspot.com . I am completing a PhD in Counseling Psychology, and my dissertation is focused upon the impact of infertility on marriage. I believe strongly that there is a need for better support services for men and women who are undergoing IF diagnosis and treatment, and my hope is that this study will aid in the development of such services.
I am contacting you after stumbling across your blog. I am recruiting participants for my study, and wanted to invite you and your husband to take part. All that would be involved would be the completion of an online survey, that would take approximately 20 minutes. All couples who complete the surveys will receive a voucher good for a pair of free movie tickets at a Regal Cinemas.
Please let me know if you are interested by emailing me at UTInfertilityResearch@gmail.com . I have included the criteria for participation below.
Best of luck to you!
Elisabeth
I’ll be sure to participate in your study… after I get married.
I love that Babette. Gorgeous. Can’t wait to see yours–whenever that will be. I’d settle for a bit piece of it.
Ahem. Wow.
Although, as much as I would like to deny I have a stash…my 4 drawer plastic storage caddy, 3 rubbermaid 18 gallon totes and several grocery bagsfull of yarn would beg to differ. LOL Part of my 2010 organizational project is to reorganize all the yarn and decide if/when I’m going to use it and gift or get rid of what I don’t want. It’s just mind boggling when it’s staring you in the face though. I totally get it.
By the way, that Babette looks awesome…where did you get the pattern for it?
It was published in Interweave Crochet a few years back. You can buy it on the Interweave website and/or through Ravelry.
PS, your stash is WAY prettier than mine!
I love chrochetting, so relaxing. As opposed to knitting (for me)….
Gol darn, I have a 3 tier book shelf, 3 buckets, 5 baskets and a few knitting bags, sigh. I thought my stash was under control. Discovering it’s not is almost earth shaking. Ravelry 10 shawls in 2010 to stash bust is relieving my misery…
DUDE! I think I’m going to join that challenge. I actually want to make 2 shawls anyway, If I were to do 10 shawls, I’d have to buy more yarn… and that is so not the point of stash busting, you know? Although, I admit it’s tempting.
lol that looks like mine.
I saw this on Etsy today and thought of you;

P
LOL!
Yep, that’s a stash. I actually just got rid of a bunch of yarn myself. But my fabric stash is still over the top. What pattern do you use to make market bags? I think that’s a great idea.
I haven’t been using a pattern for the bags, just crocheting off the top of my head so to speak. I just downloaded some patterns for flowers, though, as I want to add flowers (with button centers) to the bags. Once I get them done, I’ll post a picture.
Okay, well, the first step is to admit that you are powerless in the face of teh yarnz…
That looks about like my stash…
Hehehehe. I’m right there with you sister. My only consolation is that a lot of my yarn was given to me.
Wow. I’m impressed.
